Influenced by the likes of Bon Iver, Ben Howard and John Mayer, James McLean is a Singer/Songwriter and working musician. His music has been synced to domestic TV shows (Made In Chelsea, Bajo Sospecha) and series trailers (Nurse Jackie) and his Debut EP is set to be released early 2016.

After growing up in Toulouse, James went on to study a diploma in guitar at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in Kilburn. Which in turn lead him into playing guitar for numerous acts. James currently plays guitar for a number of band projects, this year having been on a national tour with MALKA (former frontwoman of the acclaimed ‘6 Day Riot’) promoting her album release, as well as being lead guitarist for Jonathan Whiskerd and Ruben.

James fuels his songwriting making a living performing as a busker and function musician. He has taken part in a variety of ‘alternative gigs’ including performing for a surprise proposal on top of the London Eye to being hired to save relationships on the verge of breakup. James regularly busks round London, he can often be found entertaining the tourists outside the Tate Modern.

James’ music throws raw acoustic tones in with hints of electronic production, his characterful voice exhibits lyrics about love, broken relationships and growing old.

After playing guitar and singing for other projects, James looks forward to pursuing his own artist project, where he can use his honed musical skills to express his own ideas starting with an EP release next year.
