Ackrite619 or Ackrite, is an American record producer, artist and rapper. He rose to prominence in the early 1990's under the influences of critically acclaimed artist(s)/group(s) such as Nas, E40, DJ Quick, Dj Premiere, Rza, Dr. Dre, Dj Krazy Tunes, and Wu Tang. Ackrite continued with a solo career that has garnered him local respect, through little mainstream success. While attending college, Ackrite worked along with group member Lou Slugga of MLS. Mr. 619 played a major role in the group sound and lyrics, merging both elements of intellectual lyrics, soul sampling and turing it into hip hop music (also known as nu wave of slap).
Early Life
Ackrite619 was born in San Diego, California. As a young child, Ackrite and his family relocated. His high school buddy Lou Slugga, helped influenced Ackrite interest in hip hop. His grandfather also played a major role in his life by educating him about African culture through books and music. In his early years, he played the clarinet and began writing his own rhymes. his style is often described as laid back, straight forward with impeccable wordplay. Ackrite has also been praised for his ability to "savage the mic with his punchline lyrics and production", say's production partner Psydvfekt. His style is "compound". "It runs over one beat into another bar which he never loses the punchline flow".
