As a little girl Liana showed a great passion for music and dancing. At the age of 4 her mom took her to dancing classes and at the age of 7 she started piano lessons. «I remember that I’ve always loved to be a center of attention and in the evenings I did little concerts for my family,» she laughs.
Later, in her teens she was competing in ballroom dancing contests as a professional dancer.
However, she gave up music and dancing to study Economics and Finance. After the University she worked as a Strategy Business Consultant and later at a well-established Investment Bank for a while before she started taking vocal lessons for fun.
«I didn’t take singing seriously before I recorded Amy Winehouse’s «You know I’m no good» cover and my vocal coach inspired me to keep refining my vocal skills and nurturing my passion. That was the time when I realized that i wanted to open a new chapter of my life — pursue music,» she says.
Since then, she decided to put her career in Finance on hold to embark on a strange, surreal journey to the magical world of music.
So after she quit her job she intensified practicing her vocal skills. She also started writing lyrics for her own songs: «I had so much to say that the thoughts were just pouring out of me and I was putting them on paper.» As she thought about what her next step would be, she decided that she needed a team of professionals to work with to be able to create her own music and bring her passion to another level. «First of all I needed a good songwriter. It didn’t take long time, the world was moving to me and I met a producer and songwriter that I was totally impressed with. We have the same tastes in music, the same life philosophy so we had this energy between us that led to music creation.»
The next two years Liana was working with her team hours at the studio, creating, discussing, having endless meetings, changing, then creating again. «It was one of the best experiences I ever had in my life,» Liana says.
At that period she also started taking dancing lessons and… yes, pole dancing lessons, which became her passion too!
Right before approaching final recordings for her first album she taught herself to play guitar as «I found this overwhelming sense of excitement about singing and accompanying myself playing guitar!», she says.
As she proceeded with recordings she also did a dancing show choreography for her song Let’s dance.
