New Album From The Prodigy!
The big news in dance music this week was the announcement of a new single and album from rave trailblazers The Prodigy. Their seventh studio album will be released in early 2018 on their own Take Me To The Hospital label via BMG. The band, perhaps best known internationally for their ‘Firestarter’ single, also announced via their socialmedia channels that a new single will be released later this year.
The album and single form part of the band’s new worldwide recording deal with BMG, the fourth largest music publishers in the world, who already publish all of Liam Howlett’s catalogue. BMG UK Executive VP for Music Korda Marshall said: “The Prodigy are one of those bands who define an entire sound and can justifiably claim to be among the architects of contemporary music. We are delighted to have the opportunity to release what will undoubtedly be one of the most important records of 2018.”
The Prodigy co-founder and main song-writer Liam Howlett said: “Very happy to be joining the BMG family for the next Prodigy album release under my 'Take Me To The Hospital' label, great guys who totally understand our band... Now let’s make some noise!”

The new album will be The Prodigy’s first for three years, following 2015’s The Day Is My Enemy which reached #1 in the UK Album Charts. Their previous albums, Music For The Jilted Generation, The Fat Of The Land, Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned, Their Law - The Singles, and Invaders Must Die were all UK #1s as well. The Prodigy also have an impressive Spotify following, with stream-counts of over 20 million on several of their tracks. The news this week took fans by surprise as the band had announced in 2015 that they had no plans to release any further albums.
Alexi Cory-Smith, BMG President Repertoire & Marketing said: “Four years ago we signed a deal to represent Liam’s publishing and the relationship is a successful and enjoyable one. Liam is a genius, he and the band have a lot of fans in this building and we love working with him. It is fantastic now to be able to work with The Prodigy on records too.”
