Hi.

I’m Joanna Velayo. Been a singer all my life. I can sing Pop, rock, Jazz, Gospel, Standards, and even Classical music.
Singing has been my bread and butter or my main source of income from the time I started earning from it. Then I was blessed to finish my Bachelors degree in Music, with Voice, as concentration. That opened more doors, like composing and music coordination at events.
First found out I’m a good singer when my preschool teacher made the whole class sing the same song individually and I sang it in a way that had much feelings, even if the song was just about a 'ball'. Then ,from elementary to high school level, I was always a priority to perform for special school programs.
After graduating from high school, I joined a band and started working as the main vocalist for several bands. Then I found out I could earn more if I went solo. So I sang solo at some music lounges and hotel lobbies. Then I did music coordination for weddings, which paid a lot more than singing solo at gigs.
Lately, we were supposed to have a mall tour with a new band I formed , with plans of only performing at special events, and not regular bar gigs, and we have original songs to promote. But because of Covid pandemic, the mall tour was not even able to do its first show.
It’s easy for me to compose songs or put melody and lyrics on previously arranged instrumental music. I can sing songs of any genre, due to my experience in professional singing and the extensive voice training required to finish my degree in Music.
My voice has wide range of notes. I can reach (three octaves). So I can go from very low to high notes.
Oh, by the way. I write original songs too.
