Looking for: FEMALE VOCALIST Studio Access Required: YES BPM: 138
Country: ANY City: ANY Language: ENGLISH

Thanks for your interest in this project.

I'm looking for a Verse, Pre Chorus, Chorus and Ad-libs for this track, which will be released in full on one of the worlds leading Trance record labels. I have had great success with Vocalizr before which includes vocals I've found from here going on to be some of the biggest Trance records of the year including the audio brief. Please listen carefully to the audio brief as this is the standard that is needed to win the competition. Also please listen to Craig Connelly & Christina Novelli - Black Hole if you need a second reference.

When writing the vocal please stick to the specification below, this will increase the chance of winning the contest. There is a lot to read but I find the best results come from when artist stick to the spec giving me the best chance to achieve what im looking for with the record. Once you've read them you'll see it's quite simple really. Winning vocalist will also be required to take any feedback and make changes that are needed.

Spec:
1. Structure.

Bar 16/30 secs - Verse. 16 bars in length. Or extend it further on to the next 16 bars when the percussion starts again, but i'd prefer just to have a killer 16 bars.

Bar 48/1min23secs - Pre chorus - This is a bit of a trademark of mine that i get vocalists to put in my vocal tracks. Basically in trance this section is rarely used, but in the 2/3 times I’ve had a vocalist write in this section its been massive. Having a stunning bit of pre chorus over a sustained chord as you enter the breakdown can floor people. Check out the audio brief for what I mean, the more haunting the better, the suspense makes people melt on the dance floor.

Bar 64/1min51secs - Chorus. We need a huge chorus, and i don’t mean sang with loads of power necessarily, just something that is really hooky and blows people away. Again see the two audio briefs for reference.

Bar 80/2min21secs - Here you can go with the chorus again, or something else, or nothing at all. I have added in a sustained chord for half this section, might compliment the chorus well and add tension. Have a play with things, maybe a more powerful version of the chorus, but please ensure the main chorus is incredible before trying to expand it, as it's not necessary if the main chorus is magic.
The ref (How can I) uses the chorus twice at different intensities.

Bar 96 - Build up to the drop. Feel free to add ad-libs and little fills here you like, open to interpretation. They may also be used over the drops,

And thats it really, I will probably re use the chorus later on in the arrangement, but for now please show off the main sections in your submissions. Feel free to write anything else over any part of the arrangement if you have the inspiration.

2. Lyrics/Style -
The main point I want to get across here is please don’t feel you have to try write a trance track, It’s important to me and based on past success you just write a song that resonates with you personally, something which you love yourself. So whatever the subject matter is ok with me, if it comes from the heart and you feel it then it will come across really well in the track. The worst demos I’ve had in the past are when people "try to write a trance record", the best are when people just write what they love. So feel free to have fun with this, make it personal.

Thanks for your submissions
Craig
