Hi Everyone,
I'm relatively new to this forum. I've done one completed gig, and I'm currently working on two more. This will be my fourth. So far, I'm super happy with the results and my experience on this forum. I think it's an AWESOME resource.
Basically, I'm looking for a vocalist - female only- to sing a custom spoof version of the chorus from the song "Waterfalls" by TLC.
The song is pretty well known, but I've attached an audio clip and a link for reference.
The original lyrics are as follows:
Don’t go chasing waterfalls
Please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you’re used to
I know that you’re gonna have it your way or nothing at all
But I think you’re moving too fast
The re-written lyrics are posted below. They’re completely stupid, possibly mildly-offensive, and absolute nonsense. But, don't worry, I can explain the origins once we agree on a gig. Here they are:
DON’T GO PLAYING TICKLE BALLS
PLEASE STICK TO THE KLIQ TE-STICK-LES (TESTICLES) THAT YOU’RE ALL USED TO.
I KNOW THAT YOUR CREW HAS BEEN CONSUMING SO MUCH ALCOHOL
THE BOUNCER’S CREEPING UP FAST…
A little background on the project…
This is for a spoof track. Totally stupid. Just for fun. Nothing commercial. It's part of a project some friends and I are doing to celebrate a trip we’re taking this summer, during which we’ll do nothing but drinking and being idiots. We have a tradition of ball-tapping each other, so that’s where this song comes in.
My hope is to find a talented person to work with, and who would have fun doing the project. Someone who sorta "gets it", isn't put off by the immaturity, can have a good time with the lyrics and the absurdity of the project and, overall, will produce a good lyrical contribution.
If not, hey, it was worth a shot.
Looking forward to hearing from people - I know this site is full of talented, creative artists!
Thanks!
matt
PS - As for price, right now I'm looking at about $150. But, price negotiable for right lyricist!
