Mike Dreams, born Michael Alexander Hannah, is an American Hip-Hop Artist & Songwriter, from Minneapolis, MN.
Dreams grew up on the South side of Minneapolis, and began getting interested in music as a child in the mid-1990s. His earliest endeavors included performing self-produced rap songs in various community events and talent shows. Mike’s older brother , was pivotal in introducing Dreams to the art of rapping and MC’ing. When he was tragically murdered the following year in 2006; a few months before Mike’s High School graduation, Dreams decided to honor his memory by pursuing a career as a recording and performing artist.
Since 2007, Dreams has released music independently. In the early years of his career, he gained national acclaim with online publications such as NahRight, 2DopeBoyz and In 2010, he released his debut album, "Dreamer’s Poetry", followed by his second album "Just Waking Up" . Dreams performed at the Soundset Festival; one of the largest outdoor Hip-Hop Festivals in the Midwest, powered by Rhymesayers Entertainment, along with the likes of indie and commercial acts, including Atmosphere, Wiz Khalifa, Method Man and Redman. In 2012, Dreams released an official promotional mixtape, "Youngin' from '88" (Hosted by DJ Advance) and his third independent studio album, “Millennial”. Dreams has been the opening act for nationally known artists including Yelawolf, Alex Wiley, Zion I, Eyedea & Abilities and Dreams also has been involved in Community Engagement during his years as n active recording and performing. He served as the headlining performer for multiple PeaceJam Festival Celebrations, honoring Nobel Peace Prize winners Shirin Ebadi, Rigoberta Menchu Tum and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. He's spoken at many school-aged and youth development programs leading workshops on creative expression, live performance and urban youth arts. He also works independently developing youth and teen performers in their craft. Mike Dreams was featured on the STARZ Network Hit Television series, “POWER”, executive produced by 50 Cent.
