I’d like to do vocals for something alternative/indietronica/pop/rock/hip hop/sophisti-pop/80-90’s inspired in terms of music.
I am 24 years old and have a “sultry, smokey haunting voice” in the deeper end of the spectrum; I believe it’s a contralto. I’d say my vocal range is around D3-D5.
Someone has said my voice reminds them of Hannah Reid (London Grammar), Sade, Christa Päffgen (Nico), Inga Rumpf, Suzanne Vega and Dido.
I can do both airy light vocals and dark raspy vocals, but I am not very comfortable in the “whistle register” some pop singers sing in. I can also do some spoken word or fast talking/rap-like bits if you’re into that.
I like the musical styles of Gorillaz/Damon Albarn/Blur, Depeche Mode, Foster The People, Röyksopp, Lana Del Rey, Sade, AIR, Sebastien Tellier, New Order, Joy Division, Pet Shop Boys, Simply Red, The Cure, Grimes, Amy Winehouse, Mazzy Star, Moby, Tears For Fears, Daft Punk, MØ, Twenty One Pilots, Annie, Lorde and the likes.
I am not professionally trained but a lot of people have suggested that I try doing vocals professionally, and so I’m finally jumping into it because I love connecting with people all over the world and making something awesome and refreshing.
Because I’m still young, I wish to take chances and make interesting choices in my lifetime.
I have the microphones Røde NT1-A, Golden Age MKII and Shure SM58.
If you would like to hear vocal samples, write me on this site and I will get back to you. Please send me samples of your work and ideas so I can get a feeling of the vibe of track(s).
You can hear some of my small unedited vocal clips and snippets on soundcloud.
Any comments and suggestions are appreciated, I aim to get better with time and practice.
Have a great day,
